The Ain (01) in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region offers a suitable terrain for a good number of hikes that will delight young and old alike. The Ain is characterised to a large extent by plains (such as Bresse or Val de Saône), low plateaus (such as the Dombes), as well as more hilly landscapes composed of cluses, valleys and mountains of the Jura type in the Pays de Gex and Bugey. The Ain peaks at 1720 m at Crêt de la Neige in the Jura Massif, a massif whose views of the Alps and Lake Geneva will enchant the hiker.

Crêt de la Neige and Reculet constitute a superb balcony on Lake Geneva and the peaks of the Alps. The itinerary that I propose describes a loop that begins in the forest to reach the foothills of the massif before ascending further to win the Crêt de la Neige, the highest summit of the Jura
