Although relatively unknown, this summit offers a unique experience, combining wild beauty and absolute tranquillity. Reaching an altitude of 2,827 metres, Becca Pouegnenta <a href=\"https:\/\/www.randos-montblanc.com\/en\/intermediate-hikes\/lago-pietra-rossa.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">overlooks the Lago di Pietra Rossa<\/a> and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Mont Blanc, the Grandes Jorasses and Mont Fort in the Valais Alps.<\/p>\n<p>The first part of the route is the same as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.randos-montblanc.com\/en\/easy-hikes\/lago-darpy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one described for Lago d&#8217;Arpy<\/a> and Lago di Pietra Rossa. It takes about an hour to climb from Lago di Pietra Rossa to Becca Pouegnenta. At the first roundabout, turn right towards Col San Carlo. Follow the road to the pass and park in the car park opposite the Hotel Genzianella.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GPS Coordinates (WGS 84) of the Starting Point<\/strong>: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/bTjcBe4LgUyCMGG87\">45.742817, 6.989551<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Ascent<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>First follow the itinerary to reach the Lago di Pietra Rossa (also shared with the Lago d&#8217;Arpy at the start).<br \/>\nOnce at the Lago di Pietra Rossa, follow the signpost to &#8220;Becca Pouegnenta &#8211; 1 h 20 &#8211; number 19&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Then walk alongside the lake and take the path leading to the Col d&#8217;Ameran, which is clearly visible. You then have to cross several n\u00e9v\u00e9s, which are not very difficult. The climb then becomes much steeper until you reach the col d&#8217;Ameran.<\/p>\n<p>From here, continue to the left towards &#8220;Becca Pouegnenta &#8211; 0 h 19 min&#8221;. The path is steeper and climbs the slope; take care at this short point, which can be tricky.
