The Valaisan Alps (also known as the Pennines Alps) remain a hiking area par excellence. These extend from the Great St Bernard Pass to the Gotthard and extend over both sides, Swiss in the north (Valais) and Italian (Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont). The Valais Alps peak at Pointe Dufour at 4,634 m. Among the most popular places are Zermatt and its incredible views of the Matterhorn (4,478 m), but also the village of Randa with its suspension bridge inaugurated in July 2017. Whether you are a hiker or a simple visitor, you will not remain insensitive to the charm of this massif.
